Will you be driving to Amsterdam? we recommend to park your car in the APCOA Parking Heinekenplein at Eerste van der Helststraat. For our guests, we have parking tickets that provide a discount on the normal rate. So during the week this will cost you EUR 15.00 per day and on Saturday and Sunday EUR 20.00, subject to price changes.
- What time can I check in?
You can check in from 15:00. It is possible to leave your luggage with us before this time, we will be
happy to store this for you in our luggage storage room.
- What time is check-out?
Please leave your room before 11:00. You can leave your luggage in the luggage storage room if you
would like to spend the day in Amsterdam.
- Can I leave my luggage at the hotel?
You can leave your luggage in our attended luggage room free of charge at any time. This is at your own risk.
- Will there be a hairdryer in my room?
There is a hairdryer in every room.
- Where can I buy tickets for public transport?
You can buy tickets on the bus, tram or metro itself, but you can also purchase these from our reception.
- How do I get to the hotel from Schiphol?
There are various ways to get to our hotel from Schiphol.
You can take a taxi from Schiphol. This should cost around EUR 35.
It is easy to reach our hotel by public transport. From Amsterdam Central Station, take tram 19 and get off at the Vijzelgracht tram stop. From Schiphol with a train to Amsterdam Zuid (mostly from platform 3, 1 stop), and Metro 52 direction Noord, stop Vijzelgracht, exit Weteringschans. From there it is a 350 m walk to Hotel Asterisk.
Connexxion bus 397. This costs around EUR 5.00. Get off at the Leidseplein stop (opposite the American
Hotel) and from here it’s about a ten-minute walk to the hotel. Or take tram 7 or 10 to Weteringcircuit.
(just two tram stops).
- How do I get to the hotel from the central station?
From Schiphol with a train to Amsterdam Zuid (mostly from platform 3, 1 stop), and Metro 52 direction Noord, stop Vijzelgracht, exit Weteringschans. From there it is a 350 m walk to Hotel Asterisk.
- Does the hotel have a shuttle service?
The Connexxion shuttle bus stop is outside the main exit from Schiphol, slightly to the right. You can buy tickets on the bus. The price per person is EUR 17.50. You do not need to book in advance. Please note, when planning your return journey to Schiphol, that this bus only runs until around 21:00.
- Can I cancel my reservation free of charge?
You may need to cancel your reservation with us due to unforeseen circumstances. Cancellation is free of charge until one week before arrival, provided you have booked through our own website. In the case of cancellation within one week before arrival or in the case of a no show, we are unfortunately obliged to charge 100% of the reservation cost.
- Is breakfast included in the reservation?
Your reservation is excluding breakfast and tourist tax, including VAT. You can have breakfast at the
hotel for EUR 7.50. Breakfast is served between 07:00 and 10:30.
- Can I park at the hotel?
There is always plenty of space to park in our street. Our hotel is also easy and quick to reach from the motorway. Parking in the street is quite expensive, however. We therefore recommend that you park in the APCOA Parking car park on Marie Heinekenplein.
During the week, this will cost you around EUR 20.00 per day and on Saturday and Sunday around EUR 15.00. When checking out, you can collect a ticket from our reception, in order to activate the discount. This way, you can park your car in Amsterdam safely and at a good price.
- Do I have to provide my credit-card details?
Your credit-card details are required to guarantee your booking until you arrive at the hotel. Payment
takes place at the hotel, your details are only used to guarantee the booking.
If your booking is non-refundable, the same conditions apply: Your credit-card details are required to
book the room. This booking cannot be changed or cancelled. When making the booking, you accept that the full price of the stay can be debited from your credit card and that refunds are not possible.
- Is there a lift at the hotel?
All our rooms can be reached using a lift. Nevertheless, the hotel is not suitable for disabled guests, as
the entrance to our hotel is two steps above street level. It is also necessary for you to be able to take
the stairs in the event of a lift fault.
- Is the hotel suitable for disabled guests?
No, unfortunately our hotel is not suitable for people who cannot walk up steps and/or are dependent on a wheelchair. (see also ‘Is there a lift at the hotel?’)
- Can I use WiFi at the hotel?
You can use our WiFi network free of charge during your stay.
- Are there coffee and tea-making facilities at the hotel?
You can use the coffee and tea facilities in your room free of charge.
- Are pets permitted?
Pets are not permitted, for hygiene reasons.
- Are children / babies allowed?
Our hotel is unfortunately not suitable for children.
- Will there be a safe in my room?
Every room is equipped with a safe.
- Can I smoke at the hotel?
All our rooms and public spaces are 100% non-smoking.
