The Youseum is the place where it's all about…. YOU! You are the lead in this story. You go on an interactive, digital tour through the museum. Okay, the word museum may have to be taken with a grain of salt, but that doesn't make your visit any less spectacular.
Do you love social media, always looking for inspiration for original photos and special backgrounds? Then you have come to the right place at the Youseum! You go through a tour through rooms with all kinds of very cool attributes, which you can use to make the best photos and videos. The idea behind the rooms is a journey through your life, you end up in different situations and periods in life.
The Youseum opened its doors about a year ago. There are now several museums in Amsterdam that are comparable, but in the Youseum it sometimes goes a bit further than just the “perfect” photo. For example, there is a room with two exactly the same beach chairs. One on a beautiful beach, everything is right. And one on a beach that is full of plastic waste. By taking a photo on the beach that is strewn with plastic, you can choose to draw attention to the plastic soup. The Youseum also pays attention to the negative sides of social media. Everything, of course, with a wink.
It is also funny that you get your own guide. One of the employees will accompany you during your time in the museum and can also assist with taking photos and coming up with poses.
The Youseum can be reached in various ways from our hotel. You can take a nice walk along the Amstel. It will then take you about 20 minutes to get there.
You can also choose to use public transport. Then choose tram 7, direction Azartplein, get off at Weesperplein and change to metro 51 towards Isolatorweg. Get off at the Amstel station and from there it is a short 6-minute walk to the Youseum.
Have fun running into yourself.
