It's spring again and that always makes me happy. The days are getting longer again, the sun is shining more often and you can enjoy a hundred thousand tulips in bloom spread over various parts of the city. Every year from the beginning to the end of April the “Tulp Festival” starts in Amsterdam. Along prominent routes and famous places, you can enjoy beautiful tulips and colors. A real feast for the eyes. And for the photographers among us: the best time to take pictures of the city!
The Keukenhof will also open its doors around this time. Many of our hotel guests therefore come to our hotel to, among other things, visit the tulips of the Keukenhof. At the time of writing this blog, the Netherlands is still in lockdown. This means that it is still not easy to travel and this also complicates a visit to the beautiful tulip fields. But do not be sad. I set out for you to capture the most beautiful places. Then you can enjoy the splendor of the tulips in our city a bit. And maybe I'll enthuse you to free up a spot in the agenda for a visit to our hotel next spring to admire the tulips with your own eyes.
As I wrote in the introduction, Amsterdam will be transformed into a tulip mecca from the beginning of April to the end of April. Dam Square, Rokin, Museumplein and Magere Brug, among others, are decorated with tulips. For more information about the “Tulips Festival” I refer you to the website of Iamsterdam.
I myself went to Keukenhof for the first time two years ago. It was only when I saw it with my own eyes that I understood why everyone says that this place is special. So many different tulips together. All those colors and all those flowers, it impressed me. Unfortunately, you cannot visit Keukenhof this year because of Corona.
In addition to all of the above, you can of course also choose to have a bunch of tulips placed in your hotel room, so that you can enjoy tulips up close in a different way. This can be arranged prior to your visit to our hotel. But you can also buy the tulips yourself. My favorite address is at Sijmons Bloemen. You can find them in Gerard Doustraat 158.
